In der Sendung, die ab dem 17. Februar 2010 auf DW-TV läuft, ist Heilfasten das Schwerpunktthema. Dr. Andreas Buchinger von der Dr. Buchinger Klinik in Bad Pyrmont ist als Experte zu Gast im Studio.
Moderator Dr. Dierk Heimann und Moderatorin Stefanie Suren sprechen mit ihm darüber, wie man richtig fastet, was Heilfasten im Körper bewirkt, was es mit dem Begriff „Entschlacken“ auf sich hat und wer nicht fasten sollte.

 We take great pride in celebrating the 90-year jubilee of fhe family firm and The Parent House of The ‘Clinic Dr. Otto Buchinger’ in Bad Pyrmont: on the 4th of July, 1920, Dr. Otto Buchinger I (1878 - 1966) and his wife Elizabeth opened the 'Health Resort Dr. Otto Buchinger' in Witzenhausen near Goettingen.
In the 30’s both my grandfather Dr. Otto Buchinger I and my father Dr. Otto Buchinger II (1913 - 2003) found a suitable sanatorium in the lovely and traditional Spa Bad Pyrmont near Hanover, which they jointly led till the 50’s. In the early 50's, my father and his wife Marie-Luise took over and expanded The Clinic as well as its therapeutic range until 1996, whereafter Dr. Andreas Buchinger and his wife took over, continuing with The Buchinger-Tradition. In 1959, a new and modern building on the foot of the beautiful woods of the ‘Bomberg-Mountain’—overviewing the valley of Bad Pyrmont—was opened.
My grandfather Dr. Otto Buchinger I introduced The ‘Remedial Fasting’ into medicine, further innovations are owed to my father Dr. Otto Buchinger II, such as the so-called 'Break of the Fasting', followed by the very well thought-out ‘Re-alimentation-phase’ (the refeeding phase) as well as the introduction of various complementary therapies into the Buchinger-System. My father moulded The Buchinger-Method very decisively from the post-war period on, so that it enjoys high respect and repute not only in Europe, but world-wide. Today, there are four generations of Buchinger-Physicians in Bad Pyrmont—my wife Evelyn and I stand for the 3rd generation of Buchinger-Physicians—and in our daughter Verena Buchinger we hope that the 4th Generation of Buchinger-Doctors continues The Clinic in Bad Pyrmont in its founders' spirit. Our philosophy has been and will always be to take excellent care of every individual patient (coming from all over the world), supplemented by very well trained doctors and all our employees.
